Appendix A Membership in the United Methodist Church One area of concern for those of us in Concerned Methodists is the continuing loss of members from our United Methodist Church over the past twenty nine years - 2,379,976, or an average of 82,068 people per year, 6,839 per month, 1,579 per week, or 225.6 per day, for every one of those years. We encountered difficulty in getting figures from six annual conferences for 1996 and two for 1998 due to a variety of problems. After that, the accuracy of their figures was problematic. @ The Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference didn't report its numbers, and 77 Western Pennsylvania pastors failed to turn in membership data on time.
